Is OnlyFans ID verification safe? Check the request first

By Zander Small, co-founder of FanlockUpdated October 13, 2026

What to know first

Identity verification means sharing sensitive information, so confirm that you are using OnlyFans’ official flow before uploading anything. No online service can promise zero risk; read the privacy notice and the verification provider information shown at the point of collection.

What to do

  1. Start from the official account Type onlyfans.com and navigate to the verification request after signing in. Do not trust an ID-upload link sent by a stranger in a DM.
  2. Read what is being collected Check whether the flow requests an ID, selfie or other evidence and which provider handles it. Review the stated purpose and retention information.
  3. Submit through the designated flow Do not send ID images, login codes or passwords to a person claiming they can speed up approval. Use the official support route for an unclear request.
  4. Secure recovery and device access Use a unique password and the available second factor. Avoid storing unprotected copies of identity documents on shared devices.
  5. Use the privacy contact for data questions Ask the controller about retention, access or deletion rights that apply to your location. Account deletion does not always mean immediate deletion of every legally retained record.

Public anonymity and verification are different

A stage name can limit what subscribers see. It does not mean the platform, payment providers or tax authorities do not need your real identity. Do not submit false identity information or try to bypass age checks.

Check the provider shown in your own flow

Verification processes can vary by location and change over time. Ofcom’s OnlyFans enforcement record concerns the accuracy of age-assurance information supplied to the regulator; it is not a certification that every verification process is risk-free.

Common questions

Will subscribers see my uploaded ID?

Do not assume that an identity document is a public profile field. Check the current privacy notice for how verification data is used and shared, and use support for your specific concern.

Can I verify with a stage name instead of my identity?

Use the truthful information required by the official verification flow. A public stage name does not replace required identity checks.

Should I send my ID to a recovery agent?

No. Follow the official verification process and never share authentication codes with a recovery seller.
