TikTok Takedowns: Remove Stolen Content from TikTok
Stolen content moves fast on TikTok. A single video can hit a million views in 24 hours, and an impersonator using your name and clips can build hundreds of thousands of followers before you notice. We remove infringing TikTok content through DMCA filings, brand impersonation reports, and direct platform escalation. Free scan first. Takedowns start within hours.
TikTok's official DMCA process
TikTok accepts DMCA takedown notices under 17 U.S.C. § 512 through their copyright agent at copyright@tiktok.com or through the in-app reporting form. A valid notice includes:
- Identification of the copyrighted work
- Direct URL or video ID of the infringing content
- A sworn statement of authority to file
- Contact information for the rightsholder
For impersonation accounts (someone using your name and content to pretend they're you), TikTok also accepts identity reports through their Trust & Safety form.
How long TikTok takes to respond
Best case: 24 to 48 hours for clear-cut DMCA filings. Median: 3 to 5 days. Worst case for ambiguous filings: 2 to 3 weeks.
TikTok's response speed depends on whether the report comes from a verified rightsholder. Fanlock files under bulk authorization, which usually shortens response time.
What to do if TikTok doesn't respond
There are three escalation paths.
The first is to repeat through a different channel. Some Trust & Safety teams respond faster to email than the in-app form, or vice versa.
The second is to escalate to Apple or Google Play. TikTok's iOS and Android apps depend on app store compliance. Apple App Store IP policy and Google Play Developer policy both require apps to remove infringing content. A parallel notice to the app store creates pressure that DMCA alone doesn't.
The third is to escalate to ByteDance corporate. TikTok's parent company has a legal department that responds to formal notices when the platform-level team is silent.
Fanlock files all three when the first one stalls.
Automating TikTok DMCA takedowns
Manual filings stop scaling once you're dealing with five or more unauthorized accounts or 20+ stolen videos. Fanlock automates three pieces:
- Detection. Continuous scanning for accounts using your stage name, content, or face.
- Filing. Formal DMCA, brand impersonation reports, and app store escalation when needed.
- Re-detection. Catches re-uploaded content and clone accounts within hours.
We've removed thousands of unauthorized TikTok accounts and millions of views of stolen content for our customers.
